If Dorothy skated...

 She might have worn these!

 i've been wanting to
*sparkle* up some ice skates for the holiday season...

i found these boy's figure skates at a sporting goods resale shop

it's best to buy them before the ice skating season starts...
they mark the prices up then!

these were $9.00

after some Cherry Red spray painting
i then used red glitter on the boot,
black glitter on the bottom and silver glitter on the blade
~brushed on Mod Podged then the glitter~

tied on some new laces (holiday ribbon)

added the marabou trim and pom-poms to the laces

Ruby Red Skates
perfect for the upcoming holiday season!

  1. I love this! I always hang some white skates on an old sled like that but I like how you jazzed them up! I'll have to look for an old pair now! I fill mine w/ cut evergreens, holly and a big candy cane.

  3. Those are very cute! Surely Dorothy would have worn them if they were available to her! I think we all secretly want to wear those red shoes she had, but maybe it would be even more fun wearing the ice skates! I love the maribou trim, the poms and the striped shoe laces...great ideas!

Great job! You're a marvel with spray paint and glitter. Who would think boys skates are lurking under all the sparkle and accessories :-)
