Instant collection

Here's my instant *old camera* collection...

and why I love thrift stores!

I've been on the search for old camera's ~
*ones that are pre-flash cube days...

I hit the jackpot thanks to my favorite thrift store!

@ the flea markets ~ old camera's go for no less than $25.00/each ~

not at the thrift stores

these were less than the price of a $5.00 foot long sandwich!

I love taking pictures ~ and my fascination with camera's inspired
me to start a collection - on a budget
~ ~ ~
All the *worth a thousand words* these camera's must have captured

I love the look of an old camera...I just wouldn't
want to take pictures with them, thank you modern technology!

If you've ever looked into the viewer to focus on one
of these, you'll understand how difficult it was
to take pictures...thank you again modern technology!

the cute volunteer lady at the thrift store tried
talking me into a newer *old* camera...saying

...they probably don't sell the film for these anymore...

...no thanks, no film necessary, I'll take these treasures...

and I'll be looking for more to add to my *instant* collection!

Bows Bows Bows

My sweet little granddaughter is
seven months old!

She's slightly challenged in the hair department {meaning; lack of!}

So she always has a little hairband and bow on -
just so we don't get those awkward comments
"is it a boy"...when she's dressed head to toe in pink!

Here's my latest project to hold all those bows!

this was a thrift store find - a very ugly picture
in a great frame!  I removed the glass and the picture
and sprayed the frame Ballet Pink.

then I covered foam core board with fabric and added the bright ribbons

now all her little bows are conveniently accessible
(this isn't all of them!)

Here's a gratuitous grandma picture....

I made her these little "pig tails" from
one of those hair pieces that we all
bought at the mall years ago...that
we never wore...or maybe wore just once!

She doesn't *likey* these too much...but
we get a good chuckle when we put these on her!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thrift store rehabbing

I've been frequenting some of my favorite thrift stores
looking for treasures to "rehab"...

I've passed up some
things that I wanted to "think" about, only to go back and
find that someone else had snatched it up...

So no more thinking about things, I've learned my lesson!

Here the "after" picture of a recent treasure ...

I wanted to recreate this image from The Graphics Fairy.

Here's the "before" - getting ready to be spray painted
I didn't hesitate on purchasing this...
it wasn't very attractive,
a brown, wood, box...
but I thought it had potential!

I sprayed the top black and then cut out the
words in vinyl on my Cricuit Expression

 Sprayed it with Heirloom White

At first, I wasn't pleased with the bubbly texture on top

but after some sanding ~ I'm liking the shabbiness!

Thanks for stopping by!

Easter decorating

A little Easter decorating going on here today ~

I painted some peat pots with acrylic paint

and picked the egg image from The Graphics Fairy

Mod Podged the image on and added a light sprinkling of glitter!

I've been growing winter wheat grass in baskets and pots ~ bringing some spring time inside!

If you can't find winter wheat grass seeds,
you can use cat nip seeds ~ you can find them at
pet supply stores...I've been told it's the same thing!

I'm joining The Graphics Fairy today for Brag Monday!

Thanks for stopping by!

Peepsi-crate

Happy Monday...I've been absent from the blogging world lately
I seem to have lost my creative edge...

But, I think I've gotten it back!

All I needed was a visit to some
thrift stores and the flea market to get me out of my funk!

I found this Pepsi crate at the flea market - love the aged yellow and the graphics

it just needed something to fill in those little slots

It needed some Peeps!

Peepsi-crate

Nothing says spring time, like a crate full of Peeps!

I've got a lot more treasures to share...

I'll be back soon ~ I promise!
